LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In honour of Kentucky Fried Chicken’s 75th anniversary, the brand is reintroducing its founder, the Colonel, by bringing his down-home values and recipe for KFC chicken to life via web, broadcast, social media and in-store experiences.

“Colonel Harland Sanders’ iconic legacy and world-famous Original Recipe chicken are what set Kentucky Fried Chicken apart. His entrepreneurial spark and unrelenting appreciation for hard work, philanthropy and showmanship are exemplary of the American Dream,” said Kevin Hochman, CMO, KFC U.S. “We want to remind today’s hardworking folks that his passion, dedication and famous secret blend of 11 herbs and spices are alive and well across our 4,300 restaurants in the U.S.”

A new brand website (KFC.com) has rolled out along with ColonelSanders.com. The latter shows the various stages of the founder’s life via the Hall of Colonels, an interactive digital experience that tells his story.

The new KFC experience also includes new menu items — such as the Finger Lickin’ Good sauce, baked beans and Dole classic lemonade — and newly designed buckets, bags, boxes and more. KFC restaurants are undergoing changes as well, with a redesign rolling out at restaurants during the next few years.
