The 136-year-old C.H. Gooderham House is now home to Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality’s newest venture, Maison Selby, a French bistro, cafe and bar. Maison Selby offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a brunch-menu option for weekends, featuring French classics such as ratatouille ($23), boeuf bourguignon ($35), sole meunière ($38) and steak frites ($29 to $79)

The Victorian-inspired interior, designed by Solid Design Creative, features four private dining rooms — The Rose Room, The Parlour, the Bar and L’Orangerie — that can seat 95. The patio seats an additional 32.

A moveable wall in the basement leads to the restaurant’s underground speakeasy, Sous Sol. The bar features its own $10 original-cocktail list, using Maison Selby’s custom line of Dillon’s Distillery spirits and Parisian-inspired bar snacks such as escargots de bourgogne and duck liver parfait.

C.H. Gooderham House operated as multiple hotels from 1912 to 1981 and was visited by famous individuals such as Earnest Hemmingway, inspiring chef John Horne’s Eggs Hemmingway ($19).
