CHICAGO — Organizers of the National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show (NRA Show) are introducing Destination: Celebration this year, a May 5 kick-off party where the winners of the Operator Innovation Awards will be announced.

“As the largest restaurant and foodservice industry event in the nation, the NRA Show delivers the best in both business connections and entertainment, and our new Destination: Celebration event is the perfect example,” said Jack Crawford, convention chair for NRA Show 2012. “The event will allow attendees to celebrate some of the most innovative restaurateurs in our industry and network with peers.”

The award winners are based on industry nominations for foodservice operators who have “transformed the industry with extraordinary creativity and commitment.” Awards will be handed out in the following categories: technology applications, sustainability, menu development, food safety as well as health and nutrition.

Chicago’s Harris Theater in Millennium Park will play host to the party, which will offer the chance to eat, network and be serenaded by recording artist Kenny Loggins.

The NRA Show runs from May 5 to 8 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
