Now Open: Lavelle

TORONTO — One of North America’s largest rooftop pools opened in Toronto on Friday. Situated atop a King St. West condo, Lavelle offers a restaurant/bar experience coupled with a 155-ft.-long infinity pool.

In a blog post on its website, Freed Developments, the design group behind Lavelle, states, “The intention was to bring something new and exciting, not only to the city of Toronto, but specifically to the King West community, which prides itself on its vibrant culture and entertainment scene.”

From Lavelle’s 16,000-sq.-ft. rooftop patio, guests can enjoy a view of Toronto’s skyline while sipping cocktails in the pool or enjoying French cuisine on the poolside. The menu is crafted by former La Société executive chef, Romain Avril. In addition to food and drink, there will be a juice bar — which uses locally sourced produce — and an ice-cream parlour.

The official launch party for Lavelle took place last Friday where it simultaneously hosted the Celebrate Basketball in the Six for a Great Cause fundraising event sponsored by CIBC Mellon and Chestnut Park. Proceeds will go towards funding basketball training programs for Toronto’s at-risk youth.

Lavelle is currently accepting reservations for its bar/restaurant. Those interested in enjoying the pool on a regular basis can purchase an annual membership for $200. Members may bring one guest and will also enjoy weekday discounts on Lavelle’s food and drink options.
