EDMONTON — Premium casual chains such as Earls and Cactus Club have enjoyed success in the Western Canadian market and now have plans to expand in central Canada, according to Canadian Business.

Earls, originally based in Edmonton, is set to open a new location in London, Ont., this summer, while preparing for the fall re-opening of its flagship store after receiving a $5-million renovation.

Execs at Cactus Club, which operate 22 units in B.C. and Alberta, are actively searching for new space in Ontario.

“Ontario is our major thrust,” Stan Fuller, owner of Earls, told Canadian Business. “The problem now is finding premium locations with the right landlords.”
