MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Sierra Hard and Sam McCaffrey competed against their bartending peers from Ontario Prime Pub locations to win the coveted Draught Master title and a four-day trip to Ireland. This comes after Hard and McCaffrey, along with their colleagues, became the first graduates of the Prud’homme training course.

The competition followed the company’s annual program that saw Prime Pubs publicans earn their Master of Beverage Appreciation and Prud’homme certificate.

“Each year, we invite our most promising publicans from all Prime Pubs across Canada to participate in Prime Pubs Liquid Academy. The week-long program is designed to build beverage excellence, skill and customer service and to increase morale and camaraderie among our staff,” says Nathan Cameron, mixologist and beverage manager, Prime Pubs. “This year we bumped the program up a notch by putting all of the participants through Prud’homme online beer certification before they arrived in Toronto for training.”

The Prud’homme, Canada’s first beer certification program, was created to help beer experts educate customers in a dynamic and entertaining way, thereby enhancing the quality of suds service in North America.
