Popbar has opened its second Canadian location in Burnaby, B.C.’s Metropolis at Metrotown. The gelato-on-a-stick joint offers three types of pops including milk-based popGelatos, made using traditional Italian recipes; fat-free, fruit-based popSorbettos and yogurtPops made with real yogurt. Customers can chose from seven toppings and five dips from the shop’s 20 to 25 rotating daily flavours to personalize their selection. “We are unique in the sense that our customers make their choices by looking at what they want to indulge in, not by looking at a plain menu board,” says Reuben Ben Jehuda, Popbar co-founder. The New York-based chain made its Canadian debut in 2014 at the West Edmonton Mall. A second B.C. location is already in the works, scheduled to open in May at the Highstreet Shopping Centre in Abbotsford, B.C.
