TORONTO — Smoke’s Poutinerie is hosting Smoke-A-Palooza on August 10 in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. This free event will celebrate fans and raise money for charity.

At the event, the World Poutine Eating Championship (WPEC), sanctioned by Major League Eating (MLE), will celebrate its 15th year as the largest poutine eating competition and second largest professional eating competition in the world.

This year’s lineup includes five of the top 10 eaters in the world, including number-2 ranked Patrick Bertoletti, number-3 ranked Geoffrey Esper, number-1 ranked in Australia and number-4 in the world James Webb, number-6 ranked Nick Wehry and number-1 ranked in Canada and number-10 in the world Darrien Thomas, and more.

The Ryan Smolkin Memorial CEO Challenge in support of We Care will also be featured with an assembly of Canada’s business leaders joining together in a two minute poutine eating competition to raise money to send children with disabilities to fully accessible summer camps.

“This is huge for us, an opportunity to take over the heart of Toronto to celebrate our fans and to raise some serious cash for an incredible cause,” says Mark Cunningham, president and COO, Smoke’s Poutinerie.
