NEW YORK — Trying to figure out the best way to store food to keep it safe and tasty longest can be confusing, but the StillTasty iPhone app has been designed to eliminate the guesswork.
StillTasty.com, which was selected as one of the Top 100 websites of 2009 by PC Magazine, has released an iPhone app that offers three key features. It gives the shelf life of particular products, offers an “Alert Me” function that sends a warning when food should be used up and helps create shopping lists.
Available in the iPhone App Store for $1.99, StillTasty.com is said to source information from a number of places, including U.S. government agencies like the United States Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
