OAKVILLE, Ont. — The winning doughnut from Tim Hortons’ 2014 Duelling Donuts contest is now available at Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada for a limited time.
The new Love Reese to Pieces doughnut is the first peanut butter and chocolate doughnut to appear on the Tim Hortons menu in Canada. The sweet treat features a custard filling, chocolate fondant and is topped with chopped peanuts and mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
“From the overwhelming positive response from Canadians who voted for the Love Reese to Pieces doughnut last year, we know there are a lot of guests who wanted to see the classic flavours of peanut butter and chocolate brought to life in a doughnut,” said David Clanachan, president and COO, Tim Hortons Canada. “We’re excited to finally bring together the great taste of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups with our classic Tim Hortons doughnut for a truly delectable treat that we know our guests will love.”
The third annual Duelling Donuts contest is already underway. Canadians can submit their creations to this year’s “Family Recipe Doughdown” themed contest at DuellingDonuts.ca until July 21.
Starting August 19, Canadians will be able to vote online for their favourite of the contest’s four semi-finalists.
