Tim Hortons Rolls Out Mobile Payments

OAKVILLE, Ont. — Placing an order at Tim Hortons just got easier, as the company announced yesterday the launch of mobile payments at its restaurants across North America.

“We’re continuously working to implement best-in-class, customer-centric technology in our restaurants, and the launch of mobile barcode payments enables us to offer the best overall guest experience,” said David Clanachan, COO, Tim Hortons. “Enhancing our technology so that guests can store their digital Tim Card in their phone for quick and easy payments is an added convenience we know customers will enjoy.”

Customers wishing to use the new technology can do so by downloading the TimmyMe app and registering a prepaid Tim Card. This allows for a quick but secure way to purchase items — using a barcode that can be scanned during checkout.

TimmyMe is a free download available from the App Store, the Google Play Store and BlackBerry App World.
