OAKVILLE — Tim Hortons is brewing jumbo java, by introducing a brand new extra large cup. Coffee lovers will be able to enjoy the larger serving beginning Jan. 23, 2012 at a value price.

In order to make room for the new extra large cup, Tim Hortons other cup sizes have shifted. The original small cup is now ‘extra small’; the medium is now ‘small’ and so on. The change in hot cup sizes will apply to all hot beverages, while the price of all hot drinks remains the same. Customers will receive the same amount of coffee for the same price.

Dave McKay, director of brand marketing for beverages, Tim Hortons, says, “we tested the names of the new hot cup sizes with our guests and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. By shifting the sizes, we’sre able to provide coffee lovers with a full range of five size options, from extra small up to the new extra large.”

Meanwhile, Tim Hortons Inc. has announced Scott Toop, general counsel, is leaving the organization effective Jan. 13, 2012. Mr. Toop, who joined Tim Hortons in Aug.2009, is an American citizen and is returning to the U.S. to start a new opportunity.

Paul House, executive chair, president and CEO, Tim Hortons Inc., says, “we appreciate Scott’s many contributions to our organization during the past couple of years and wish him every success in his new opportunity.” A new general counsel will be appointed to replace Mr. Toop.
