TORONTO — Fresh City — a Toronto-based farm and e-grocer — has launched a new line of made-from-scratch organic meals. Fresh Meals are chef prepared, nutritionist approved, and delivered across the Greater Toronto Area.
The launch of Fresh Meals furthers Fresh City’s goal of empowering people to make healthy, conscious food choices. The decision to expand into prepared meals was a natural progression for Fresh City, and with prepared meals being a grocery market segment on the rise, also an easy one.
“People want organic, local, and healthy food options,” says Ran Goel, Fresh City CEO & founder, “but they’re also extremely busy. That’s why we created Fresh Meals. We do all the planning, shopping and preparing, and our members just heat and eat.”
Founded in 2011, Fresh City is a certified B Corp and the largest organic grocery and meal-delivery company in Canada. The company runs two farms in Toronto and sources directly from more than 80 farmers and makers across Ontario. In addition to Fresh Meals, Fresh City delivers produce, recipe kits, salad jars, smoothies and hundreds of groceries, including artisanal bread, certified-organic milk, local free-range eggs, and fair trade coffee.
