VANCOUVER – Vancouver fans of the cosmopolitan or the martini (shaken or stirred) can now imbibe something with a little hometown inspiration. The popular vodka brand Absolut recently unveiled Absolut Vancouver, a new, limited-edition bottle designed to embody Vancouver and support the local arts community.

Absolut commissioned local illustrator and graphic artist Douglas Fraser to design the limited-edition bottle to reflect the city. It features a bold, yellow and blue seaplane soaring above Vancouver’s skyline and sealed within an emblematic ‘sV’s symbol. The design exemplifies what it means to live, work and play in Vancouver.

“It is an honour to partner with Absolut to create something special for Vancouver,” said Fraser. “This city is unique and contemporary, and I designed the bottle to reflect that.”

Vancouver is the first Canadian city to join the brand’s city-themed bottle portfolio, as part of its long-running Cities campaign, which already includes New Orleans, Los Angeles and Boston.
“Vancouver was a natural choice for Absolut’s next city-themed bottle,” said Kelly Kretz, senior brand manager for Absolut vodka. “In addition to being globally recognized as an exciting, cosmopolitan, and naturally stunning Canadian city, Vancouver is a hotbed of cultural and creative talent.”
