OXFORD, Conn. — Adam Equipment, worldwide supplier of scales and balances for professionals, has added a new portable scale to its existing product line. Astro is ideal for weighing recipe ingredients to maintain consistent results and dietary control in restaurant kitchens, university cafeterias, catering settings and healthcare facilities.
The Astro scale comes in three models — ASC 2001 with a 2000g capacity and a readability of 0.1g; ASC 4001 with a 4000g capacity and readability of 0.5g; and ASC 8000 with an 8000g capacity and a readability of 1g — and can accommodate ingredients, powders or a weighing container.
Its solid, one-piece construction and sealed keypad have been designed to keep fine powders and other foreign materials from entering the scale and causing damage. All three models are made from 304-grade stainless steel, which can be cleaned quickly and easily. The Astro scale also has overload protection and if too much weight is placed on the scale, the green figures on its digital display turn to red, alerting users of the error. Operation is simple with only two keys to set the weighing units — grams, pounds and ounces). For power, Astro requires either two AAA batteries or the included AC adapter.
