ATLANTA — Arby’s U.S. is now offering a Chocolate Molten Lava Cake.

According to The Huffington Post, Arby’s head chef Neville Simpson Craw was introduced to the molten lava cake in the mid-’90s as a student at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.

Years later, while thinking of new dessert ideas, he remembered the dessert. “The goal was to come up with something that could be successful in a fast-food arena but still deliver on indulgence,” Craw is quoted as saying in the Huffington Post, where he added that it was one of the highest-ever ranked Arby products in customer testing.

Arby’s website describes the new dessert as “luscious warm chocolate cake with a decadent molten lava chocolate filling, topped with premium cocoa crumbles.”

The $1.99 dessert is being sold for a limited time at the chain’s U.S. restaurants.
