Caplansky Doesn’t Impress Dragons

TORONTO — Zane Caplansky, owner of Toronto’s beloved Caplansky’s Delicatessen, walked away empty handed after pitching a food truck business on CBC’s latest episode of Dragon’s Den.

In his pitch, Caplansky offered 15 per cent of the company for a $350,000 investment.

While all Dragons enjoyed his food, they rejected the business proposition with Boston Pizza’s Jim Treliving saying he could “think of five guys who would take your franchise in a heartbeat tomorrow morning.”

Caplansky has since launched his food truck business.
