Cardinal Hosting Drive-Thru Fundraising Event

BRAMPTON, Ont. — Cardinal Meat Specialists Ltd. is holding its first-ever Cardinal’s Frozen Burger by the Case Event, which will adhere to the critical guidelines of self-isolation, physical distancing and safe grocery shopping.

The stay-in-your-vehicle event will take place on May 9th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 7055 Kennedy Rd. in Mississauga, Ont. Cardinal’s one-third pound Butcher-Style Beef Burgers (30 burgers in a case) will be available for purchase for $39.99, with a portion of proceeds being donated to three charities, including Food Banks Canada.

For the event, trailer trucks will be aligned from the entrance to the exit of the parking lot, resembling a large-scale drive-thru. Customers will place their order ahead of their pick-up from inside their vehicle, receive directions to the trailer with the product ordered, provide payment confirmation to a Cardinal service ambassador through their vehicle window and pop the trunk to receive the order. ‘Fast-Lane’ service will also be available for healthcare and emergency personnel.

“As we head into prime barbecue season, our goals on Saturday are, ideally, both simple and effective — help families enjoy quality time together in a COVID-19-compliant manner, while supporting important charities along the way,” says Brent Cator, president and CEO at Cardinal. “Selling burgers, raising funds and sharing our products are modest gestures, but as a family-owned business, the concept hits very close to home with everyone here at Cardinal.”

Cardinal, along with TradeCafe, will make the donation to Food Banks Canada, as well as its long-time charity of choice, Friends of We Care — part of the Easter Seals Canada family that sends children with disabilities to summer camp, where they can focus on a variety of physical and emotional benefits.
