fyi_food4Country Harvest is doing its part this October for the fight against breast cancer. According to a company press release, 10-cents from every Country Harvest whole grain bread and bagel product sold during the month of October will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, with a total gift of up to $50,000.  “A healthy and balanced diet is always the first step to good health, so why not buy foods that taste delicious, help reduce your risk of developing cancer and help give back to your community,” said professional home economist, Mairlyn Smith. “This October, I’ll be scanning grocery store aisles for nutritious pink products like Country Harvest whole grain breads to do just that.” A balanced diet, complete with whole grains, could help a person achieve a healthy body weight, which could help reduce the risk of breast cancer, according to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
