COVID-19 Outbreak Identified at Vaughan Restaurant

TORONTO — York Region Public Health has informed the public of a COVID-19 outbreak among staff at Café Landwer in Vaughan, Ont.

As of April 1, five confirmed cases and two probable cases have been identified, with two confirmed cases being variants of concern.

Patrons who visited the establishment between March 19 and 24 are being warned of possible exposure to the virus. Health officials issued a public notice of the potential exposure because the restaurant was not properly maintaining a patron list.

Following an inspection of the restaurant on March 31, a $1,000 fine was issued to the restaurant for not maintaining a patron list for contact tracing and not having a COVID-19 safety plan.
