ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Ontario’s wine industry is preparing for the 24th annual Cuvée weekend, which runs from March 2 to March 4 and includes a gala awards ceremony as well as a touring and tasting experience.
“Over the course of the last 24 Cuvée events, Ontario’s wine industry has evolved to a point where our wines are being recognized as world class,” said Liz Palmieri, director of St. Catharines, Ont.’s Niagara Community Foundation, which presents the event.
“Cuvée celebrates this evolution by recognizing industry excellence, and we’re so pleased to be a part of the festivities.”
Niagara Falls Canada’s Fallsview Casino Resort will serve as the backdrop for the March 2 gala where the winners of the Cuvée Awards will be announced and guests will sample wine from 63 Ontario wineries. For the remainder of the weekend, 44 wineries and seven restaurants along Niagara’s wine route will host special tours and tastings.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Niagara Community Foundation, which was created to support local charities working in areas such as arts, heritage, environment and social services.
