MONTREAL — A fire in the Robillard Building on St-Laurent Blvd. in Montreal broke out on Monday, taking down the historic building and a neighbouring building on Viger Ave., which housed the two-month-old Café Bonita.
The Cuban-themed eatery — co-owned by Rafael Hernandez and Geoffery Moreau and designed by Karina Kwong — is permanently closed until the team finds a new location.
It’s been a particularly devastating two weeks for Montreal’s foodservice industry as two of Antonio Park’s restaurants also fell prey to a fire that blazed across the strip which houses both Park and Lavanderia.
