TORONTO — Starting in January, GreenSpace Brands Inc. will offer its Central Roast brand of products at Starbucks locations across Canada. Central Roast products aim to deliver functional, whole-food based snacks in an on-the-go setting. The coffee-chain will initially launch two Central Roast items — Breakfast and Energy.
“The North American appetite for handy, individually wrapped snacks has been rising for years,” says Matthew von Teichman, president and CEO, Greenspace Brands Inc. “People want to eat cleaner foods while on the go. In our fast-paced lifestyle, we often don’t have time to do that, but it is something we’re trying to find a solution for everyday at GreenSpace Brands.”
Recent foodservice industry research supports von Teichman’s comments, suggesting consumers are planning fewer meals and increasing their daily number of “mini-meals.”
