TORONTO — Gusto 54 Restaurant Group’s latest restaurant is now open in Venice, Calif. The Toronto-based company partnered with acclaimed Los Angeles chef, Evan Funke, to open the 100-seat Italian concept.
The restaurant’s open kitchen features a wood-fired pizza oven and Tuscan grill, as well as a glass-enclosed, temperature controlled “pasta laboratorio” to allow diners to watch Funke — a master of handmade pasta — at work. Designed by Wendy Haworth Design, the space is adorned in rich and layered textures to create a rustic-chic atmosphere.
