TORONTO — Kinka Family Restaurant Group is launching four virtual-restaurant concepts.
The strategic decision was made following months of market research, examining consumer and industry trends and internal analysis.
Designed to offer variety, convenience and quality from a distance, the company will operate TOYKO SANDO & CHICKEN and JapaSando & Co. and will also introduce two additional concepts in late November. The two named concepts are available now on UberEats and DoorDash throughout Ontario and Quebec.
TOYKO SANDO & CHICKEN features classic offerings with a unique Japanese twist, such as pork, fish and chicken sandwiches made in a soy-sauce marinade; fried chicken wings; and original or ‘Tokyo’ fries.
JapaSando & Co. focuses on hearty, yet healthy offerings, including Japanese-inspired oven-baked sandwiches, house-made infused teas, genmaicha lattes, coffee and an assortment of house-made vegetable chips.
Earlier this month, Kinka Family’s Kinton Ramen brand also introduced several vegetarian ramen options at its Quebec and B.C. locations. New offerings include the Vegetarian Original, Vegetarian Shoyu, Vegetarian Miso and Vegetarian Spicy. Those that follow a vegan diet can also indulge as the ramen can be made vegan by substituting the original noodles with shirataki noodles. These offerings will be made available at Kinton Ramen’s Ontario locations in early November.
