Le Boucan Introduces Vegetarian Barbecue

MONTREAL — Montreal-based restaurant is opening up the world of barbecue to vegans and vegetarians. Le Boucan has launched a smokehouse-inspired vegetarian menu, according to Eater Montreal.

The restaurant replicates the techniques used in traditional barbecue dishes, substituting seitan and jackfruit for the usual meats, to create dishes such as vegan faux wings, jackfruit-based “pulled pork” and barbecue sandwiches.

These vegetarian options are now available at le Boucan’s Masson location and will launch at the Griffintown location in June.
