MONTREAL — MTY Tiki Ming Enterprises Inc., the wholly-owned subsidiary of MTY Food Group Inc., recently added another foodservice chain to its portfolio, with the newly completed acquisition of SushiGo for $1.05 million.

“Subsequent to this acquisition, our footprint on the sushi market is going to be more complete in Western Quebec and Eastern Ontario. The acquired stores occupy strategic locations in which the company does not currently have a strong presence, and as such, this acquisition is a great strategic fit into our portfolio,” said Stanley Ma, CEO of MTY.

SushiGo, a counter sushi concept specializing in sushi, soups, salads and teas, operates five stores, including two corporately owned units, in the Ottawa/Gatineau, Que. area. In the last fiscal period, the chain generated $2.3 million in sales.
