TORONTO — The Ontario Ministry of Labour has proposed new requirements for management of tips which will come into effect in March 2024. These changes will empower employees with the choice to designate a specific bank account for the deposit of their tip earnings. This initiative is designed to enhance fairness and transparency in the management of tip-based income in the workplace.

Atlas Direct Tips meets these requirements. Operators across Canada have been dealing with the pains of tip division and distribution for too long, as well as the CPP and EI liabilities.

Atlas Direct Tips not only automates tip division and distribution but also empowers operators with a direct tip model where the employer and employees are exempt from CPP and EI on tips generated. It has the ability to save a business more than $30,000 per $1 million in sales. Additionally, operators can save on transaction fees on electronic tips, saving a minimum of $3,000 per $1 million in sales on transaction fees.
