TORONTO — Chefs Craig Harding and Julian D’Ippolito have opened their newest restaurant venture, Bar Prima, at 1136 Queen Street West in Toronto.

Bar Prima offers a timeless and nostalgic atmosphere with dim lighting, vintage design and Italian disco music. The restaurant’s interior design is by Future Studio with branding development by Biography Design and features rich finishes of mahogany, Klein-blue leather and a marble inlay floor.

Chef de cuisine Nicholas Iaboni leads Bar Prima’s kitchen with the menu taking a modern/minimal approach to Italian cuisine. A selection of classic Italian-American dishes focus on hand-made pasta and well curated mains, such as Bar Prima’s take on “Rockefeller” and modern takes on classics such as Pasta al Forno, Sea Bream Acqua Pazza and Stone Fruit Jubilee. The wine list will showcase the classic labels from Italy and contemporary natural wines from Europe and beyond.

“Bar Prima is a refreshing twist on a classic Italian restaurant,” says Harding. “We’re excited to offer Toronto something new that we haven’t seen done before – elevated Italian cuisine with a backdrop of old-school charm.”
