WATERLOO, Ont. — The St. James Farmer’s Market building near Waterloo, Ont., was ravaged by a fire this past weekend.

“The main two-storey building is a total loss,” Dale Martin, deputy fire chief was as quoted as saying by CBC News.

“On arrival, the farmers’s market building — the main building — was involved in fire, coming out through the roof. At that point we concentrated on the other buildings around here, where the livestock sales happen.”

About 60 vendors were affected by the fire, but no one was hurt. Part of the market is scheduled to reopen later this week.
