Although the nominees have yet to be announced, each will compete to be crowned Chef of the Year, New Restaurant of the Year and Restaurateur of the Year, among others. The gala will also provide guests the opportunity to enjoy a walk-around tasting, where they can sample dishes prepared by local chefs and paired with Ontario wines.
An opening reception will be hosted by the 2009 Ottawa Restaurant Association Chef of the Year, Neil Mather and Algonquin College chefs and students who will serve dishes made with local ingredients from Savour Ottawa farmers. Proceeds from the gala will benefit The Ottawa Hospital Cyber Knife Cancer Foundation and The Algonquin College Bursary Fund.
