TORONTO — In the absence of onsite learning, Paramount Fine Foods has recognized the impact that many children have faced in no longer finding food security through educational food programs. As a result, the Toronto-based company is launching a meal-donation fundraiser through its Dare-to-Care program, aiming to provide 5,000 meals to Toronto children in need.

Throughout June, a meal donation will be made to a child in need for every purchase of $50 or more at Paramount Fine Foods locations across the Greater Toronto Area. These meals will be prepared in-house at the closest Paramount location and will then be delivered to children through Toronto-based food-support programs.

“No child should ever have to go hungry, so we want to make sure we do our part to support them,” says Mohamad Fakih, CEO of Paramount Fine Foods. “With special days like Father’s Day, Best Friend Day and Global Day of Parents occurring during the month of June, we are reminded to show our loved one’s support and affection…yet we often forget to reach out to our community and provide that same care.”

Paramount Fine Foods has partnered with local community organization, Building Roots, which will assist the fundraiser by sharing meal donations at its weekly food programs, connect Paramount to other leading food-program advocates and further social cohesion within the community.
