TORONTO — Popular Toronto restaurant Parts & Labour is closing its doors on January 1, 2019 after 10 years in business.

“It has been an honour to serve the community of Parkdale, Toronto, and those that have joined us from afar for what has been a 10-year journey,” the restaurant and bar posted on Instagram. “We wish to thank our loyal clientele for their continued patronage and support over the years. It has been an incredible experience and none of this would have been possible without you. We would also like to thank our entire staff, both past and present, as well as those that contributed in many different ways.”

Parts & Labour became a staple of Toronto’s dining scene under celebrity chef and co-owner, Matty Matheson, who left the restaurant last year. The restaurant’s basement music venue has played host to popular bands such as Mac Demarco and Iceage, as well as a multitude of DJs and garage-rock shows.

Parts & Labour is owned by the Social Group, the event-planning company that owns the Dog & Bear and P&L Burger.
