Saloon Bar Opens in Toronto

TORONTO — There’s a new set of bright yellow doors in Toronto’s King West neighbourhood, which open to a new saloon-inspired resto-bar.

Weslodge is a Western Saloon restaurant owned by Charles Khabouth and Hanif Harji.

Its menu, by executive chef Stuart Cameron and chef de cuisine Kanida Chey, offers American fare, including fried bourbon Cornish hen ($21), scotch egg with chorizo tomato jam and truffle ($4), and a signature drink, made with gin, house-made tonic and fresh lemon ($9).

Designer Alessandro Munge of the Toronto-based design firm Munge Leung designed the interior, which includes classic saloon chairs, dark walls and wooden cabinetry.

Weslodge is open daily for lunch (except Saturdays) and dinner, and features a Sunday brunch menu.
