EDMONTON — Chef Michael Statländer has been named the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology’s (NAIT) 2015 Chef in Residence.

The toque, who is recognized for his dedication to sustainable food production and the ‘eat-local’ movement, has worked for many top restaurants, including, Sooke Harbour House in Sooke, B.C. He’s behind the internationally acclaimed Eingensinn Farm and Haisai, a restaurant and bakery.

“I’m looking forward to working with NAIT students as the 2015  Chef in Residence,” said Statländer. “While at NAIT, I will share my views and experiences as a chef-farmer and explain how Eigensinn Farm works.”

This year’s residency runs from March 9 to 13. Statländer will work with students to prepare a three-course meal, which will be served at a March 12 luncheon to be held at Ernest’s on the Main Campus. For more details, visit nait.ca.
