New Steak Frites Unit Opens in Montreal

MONTREAL — The Quebec-based Steak Frites St-Paul restaurant concept has opened a new location on rue Saint-Denis in Montreal. And, just like all the other units, it too offers customers the choice to bring their own wine. In 2006, the popular chain began offering BYOW to its patrons in a move that was an immediate hit.

George Despatie opened the first Steak Frites restaurant in 1986 on rue Saint-Paul in Old Montreal, bringing diners his own authentic take on urban cuisine. Since then it’s grown into a franchise with eight units in and around Montreal. Filet mignon, duck confit, salmon, lamb chops and, of course, steak frites are featured on the menu.
