TORONTO — George Brown Chef School students Bruce Lee and Nga (Mandy) Sou took top honours for their noodle-based concoctions at the second annual Nestlé Minor’s Noodle Bowl Competition.

The competition, held at the Toronto college, challenged students to develop a Nestlé brand-inspired noodle dish for a panel of industry professionals, using one of the selections of premium bases and concentrates from the Minor family of products along with their choice of ingredients. The first and second year students were eligible to win funds to be applied against their tuition, and winners were promised an opportunity to appear on the Nestlé Professional and George Brown College websites.

First place winners were awarded $1,000, while second and third place contestants walked away $750 and $500 richer, respectively.

Second and third place winners included first year students Youri Kim and Hee Moon Lee and second year students Thai Cuu and Tolga Yalcin. Sou also took home the People’s Choice Award.
