Tahini’s Expands in Toronto

TORONTO — Tahini’s Restaurants has opened its newest location at 32 Downes Street in Toronto.

“This is a landmark moment for Tahini’s,” says Omar Hamam, founder and CEO of Tahini’s. “Opening a location at such an iconic address of 1 Yonge Street is a testament to the incredible support we’ve received across Canada. Toronto is a city that thrives on diversity, and we’re excited to bring our bold Mediterranean flavours to this dynamic community.”

The new restaurant will feature dishes such as the Butter Chicken Shawarma, Jamaican Jerk Shawarma, Habibi Bowl and other creative Mediterranean classics.

The franchise is owned by Dr. Tariq Mahmood, a seasoned professional in the food safety and quality industry. With a PhD in environmental chemistry and with more than 25 years of experience in food testing and regulation, Dr. Mahmood brings an unmatched dedication to excellence in food and service.

“After a fulfilling career in food safety and quality, I wanted to take my passion for food to the next level,” says Dr. Mahmood. “Opening a Tahini’s restaurant in Toronto feels like the perfect opportunity to bring my experience and love for Mediterranean cuisine to this vibrant city. With 56 locations across Canada and plans to expand into the U.S., Tahini’s continues its ambitious growth, aiming to reach 100 locations by 2025.
