TORONTO — The New Radicals theme, website and line-up for the 6th Annual Terroir Symposium have been announced for the event that will unite Canada’s foodservice elite at the Oliver and Bonacini, Arcadian court in Toronto on April. 23.

The day’s agenda, which will examine a “new radical” way of approaching food, will include a continental breakfast, a lunch buffet prepared by 14 of Toronto’s most innovative chefs, wine and beverage tastings, informative seminars and a cocktail reception.

This year, Awards of Excellence will recognize professionals from across the Canadian culinary landscape. Nominations for the various categories can be made on the new website. Winners will be selected by the Terroir planning committee and honoured at the event with prizes that include $1,000.

Several renowned foodservice professionals are confirmed to appear, including Michael Stadtländer, chef and organizer of Foodstock 2011; Kristian Eligh of Hawksworth Restaurant in Vancouver; Connie DeSousa of Charcut in Calgary and Tama Matsuoka, author of Foraged Flavor.

Writer and author, James Chatto will serve as emcee.
