TORONTO — The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has approved the sale of liquor starting at 7 a.m. for the duration of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which began on Nov. 20 and ends Dec. 18. Last call will remain unchanged at 2 a.m.

“The Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association (ORHMA) had been in discussions with AGCO on the matter and we are pleased that AGCO has recognized the international significance of the tournament and extended hours as they have done in previous years,” said the organization in a statement. “This is an important opportunity to boost our industry after a turbulent few years.”
