Art Gibson, a MAFSI Founding Member, Dies

GUELPH, Ont. — Art Gibson, former Manufacturers Agents for the Food Service Industry (MAFSI) member and retired manufacturer’s representative, died Jan. 3.

In addition to working in the food business and equipment-and-supply industry, Gibson was a founding partner of KGB Marketing, based in Mississauga, Ont., an agency of manufacturers’ representatives serving the food industry. In 1998, he helped form Chapter 26 of MAFSI in Toronto.

In 2002, Gibson was presented with a special achievement award from MAFSI for his outstanding efforts on behalf of MAFSI’s Canada chapter.

A memorial service will be held Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. at The Village of Arbour Trails, located at 32 Bayberry Dr., Guelph, Ont. A tree will be planted in his memory in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest at the University of Guelph Arboretum, with a service to take place Sept. 20 at 2:30 p.m.
