TORONTO — Hong Shing, a popular Chinese restaurant in downtown Toronto, has marked its 25th year in business with a series of dine-in specials and product launches. The restaurant has also been working on a brand and venue re-fresh.

The brand’s product launches include seasonings, a lineup of retail and cook-at-home home products through its program, Bringing Hong Shing to You; a limited small batch of its own private-label whiskey; and a merchandise collection, featuring hats, hoodies and varsity letterman jackets. The whiskey will be available this spring, while the merchandise will be available spring and fall 2022.

As part of its brand re-fresh, Hong Shing has elevated its website and included an upgraded online-ordering platform. Additionally, the brick-and-mortar location has undergone renovations to its main dining-room with new tables, lighting and serve ware, along with a new private dining-room that will seat up to 30 guests. The restaurant will also be programming special DJ nights, themed dinner menus and more.

Lastly, Hong Shing will be offering a series of collaborations with hospitality and community partners. “Our goal this year is to bring local communities and brands together by planning events to showcase the organizations and creatives that have supported us over the years,” says Colin Li, owner, Hong Shing. “With the restaurant at its core, the evolution of the Hong Shing brand will better help serve and engage the community.”
