Igor Relief

TORONTO — As news surfaces that relief isn’t reaching Newfoundland fast enough following the ravages of Hurricane Igor last month, Kraft Foods Canada has announced its financial support.

The Toronto-based food company recently donated $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to bolster relief efforts with on-the-ground support, essential supplies, shelter and first aid.

“We have a strong community presence in St. John’s and the surrounding area, and many of our employees in the region have already pitched in to help in whatever way they can,” said Dino Bianco, president of Kraft Foods Canada. “We are proud to support our colleagues and the Canadian Red Cross in their efforts to help East Coast Canadians rebuild and recover from this natural disaster as soon as possible.”
