KITCHENER, Ont. — In celebration of the annual March Month of Giving campaign, two Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants in Canada, in Kitchener and London, Ont., partnered with Make-A-Wish Canada, Southwestern Ontario to support the local charity. Together, the stores raised more than $12,000 throughout the month of March.

“Being the local charity partner for Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving in Canada means so much to us,” says Erin Bhatia, chapter director for Ontario, Make-A-Wish Canada. “This campaign is such a worthy program and true testament to what Jersey Mike’s is all about — making a difference in the lives of others. We’re so appreciative of the donation and thank all of those that played a part.”

The Month of Giving campaign, now in its 14th year, was celebrated at locations across North America. Collectively, the chain raised more than $25 million to help more than 200 local charities. More than 2,700 restaurants participated, raising funds for local charities including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.

“It’s incredibly heart-warming to see our customers rally to support their local charities by showing up to buy subs,” says Caroline Jones, senior VP, Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc. and daughter of the chain’s founder Peter Cancro. “Day of Giving is our busiest day, and we look forward to it all year.”

The fundraising total exceeds the $21 million raised during last year’s campaign. With this year’s donation, Jersey Mike’s has surpassed the $100-million mark, raising $113 million for local charities since Month of Giving began in 2011.
