TORONTO — Liberty Entertainment Group’s (LEG) restaurant properties have been honoured for its wine programs in Wine Spectator’s 2023 Restaurant Awards. Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards represent the world’s only program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service. They are assigned on three levels, including the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award. This year, there are 2,001, 1,411 and 93 winners in each respective category.

Michelin-starred Don Alfonso 1890 Toronto has won the Best of Award of Excellence, in addition to the company’s award-winning BlueBlood Steakhouse, for displaying excellent breadth across multiple wine-growing regions and/or significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation. The company’s three locations of Cibo Wine Bar were named with the Award of Excellence in recognition of its wine lists that feature an assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu, in both price and style.

“In a time of technological innovation, restaurants offer the human experience diners are hungry for —listening to their customers and offering personalized experience,” says Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher, Wine Spectator. “Our annual issue celebrates the places where wine is at the top of that conversation. I’m pleased to congratulate the restaurants for their dedication to wine and wine-loving diners.”

“We’re honoured to be recognized across all of our properties for our comprehensive wine programs by Wine Spectator, the world’s leading authority on wine,” says Nick Di Donato, president and CEO, LEG. “It’s thrilling to be celebrated internationally for our commitment to offering the very best pairings for our different menus, and these prestigious awards once again underscore our dedication to continuing to provide exceptional world-class dining experiences in Toronto.”
