McDonald’s Canada Launches New Loyalty-Rewards Program

TORONTO — McDonald’s Canada will be launching its new points-based loyalty program called MyMcDonald’s Rewards on Nov. 16, 2021.

The new program consists of five rewards tiers, and customers will be able to earn points on every menu item, excluding delivery orders. Customers that download the app, register and activate their account will also receive a welcome offer of 5,000 bonus points. Following this, customers will earn 100 points for every $1.00 spent.

“Our guests are some of the most loyal in the world, and we’re pleased to offer them more reasons to visit us, again and again. This announcement marks another step in our digital ambition as we continue transforming the McDonald’s experience on both sides of the counter, which began with the introduction of self-serve kiosks in 2015,” says Jacques Mignault, president & CEO, McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Ltd. “Our ongoing investment in technology is helping to drive exponential growth across our channels, including McDelivery, drive-thru, in restaurants and via our mobile offerings and digital innovations, which gives our guests greater options and personalization across their McDonald’s experience.”

McDonald’s is currently testing the removal of McCafé Rewards stickers from cups in select Manitoba and Ontario stores, with no firm plans to remove the on-cup program nationally. Moreover, as the new rewards program replaces the old, customers will have until Feb, 28, 2022 to redeem existing medium fry or hot beverage rewards earned with the current program.
