LOS ANGELES — NBC has revealed plans for a new culinary series where competitors will face-off in hopes of winning one of the largest prizes in reality-TV history.
Competing restaurateurs will vie to impress a panel of investors from both the business and foodservice industries with challenges that test their knowledge on subjects like: restaurant concept, menu development, marketability and management ability.
The winner of United Plates of America, as it is currently named, will earn the chance to launch a chain of restaurants to be opened in four U.S. locations on the night of the show’s season finale.
The show’s concept comes from production company Magical Elves, who are also behind the wildly successful Top Chef series. A list of panellists and the show’s premiere date will be announced at a later date.
