TORONTO — Paramount Fine Foods is preparing to launch a fried-chicken concept in Toronto — Krispo Chicken.

According to tweets from Paramount and Krispo, the new concept will be operated out of Paramount’s location at 1585 The Queensway.

According to the Krispo Chicken website, the fast-casual restaurant will focus on quality, local, farm-fresh ingredients, offering classic fried chicken and barbecue sides that “honour the culinary traditions of the South.” And, like Paramount, all Krispo menu items will feature Halal ingredients.

Krispo’s online menu includes two-, three- and four-piece boxes of chicken and fries, as well as nine-piece and 12-piece family bucket meals. These meals can also be upgraded with macaroni & cheese, waffle fries or all white meat. Additional sides are also available, including jalapeño corn bread, Sweet Hottie pickles, coleslaw and potato salad.

Social media posts also indicate that the concept will offer a signature fried-chicken sandwich — the Wicked Sandwich — and apple blossoms for dessert.
