Simba’s Grill is bringing East-African cuisine to Western Canada. The new restaurant, which opened its doors January 7, is owned and operated by head chef Kurshid Khan and is known for serving platters piled high with African cuisine such as barbecued meats, seasoned kebabs, curries, salads and more.
Some of the restaurant’s signature dishes include, Jeera Chicken ($35); Prawns Pili Pili ($17);Kuku Choma, barbecued chicken tenders ($17); Samaki Karanga, halibut cooked in tomato-based spices served on a bed of saffron rice, ($28); and Chicken Surwa, a chicken breast cooked in cream curry ($17).
Simba’s grill operates from Tuesday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
