Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. — Niagara College (NC) Teaching Brewery has announced its second Project Brew craft beer festival, run by its Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program students.

The event, which takes place on Aug. 7 at the Market Square in St. Catharines, will offer the public an opportunity to sample a variety of student-crafted beers.

“We wanted to bring our beer to the community rather than make them come to us,” said Luke Goertzen, event chair and second-year Brewmaster student. “It also gives us, the students, the opportunity to host and operate a beer festival similar in form to those which we may later be attending as brewers.”

The festival will also feature breweries owned and operated by NC Teaching Brewery students, graduates and teachers, including Big Brothers Brewing Co., High Road, Garden Brewers and Shiny Apple Cider.

Food vendors The Yellow Pear, PigOut Roasters, Sweetie Pie’s Bakery and Eh Jose will also be onsite.

The event is open to guests 19 years of age or older. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Admission price includes a branded glass and five drink tokens. For tickets and more information visit projectbrewsummer2015.eventbrite.ca.
